A Panama City man was critically injured Friday in a single-vehicle crash in Gulf County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Charles Ray Tolbert, 76, was transported to Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart Health System after the crash on State 22 at 5 a.m., according to the FHP. Tolbert traveled eastbound in a 2002 Toyota Tacoma, when he lost control and went on to the south shoulder, the FHP reported. His vehicle struck a concrete culvert, went airborne, landed on its wheels, then tipped over and rested on its right side, according to the FHP.
Tolbert’s injuries were listed as critical on the FHP report. He was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the FHP.
