DeFUNIAK SPRINGS -- A man suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 90 and Peacock Road at 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Joseph Steven Kennedy, 42, of DeFuniak Springs was walking westbound along U.S. 90 with his back to traffic when an unknown vehicle drifted over the white fog line and struck him from behind.
The vehicle did not stop, and Kennedy was discovered by passing motorists shortly after the crash. He was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
The unknown vehicle will have damages on the passenger side, and the vehicle will be missing a black right rearview mirror, FHP said.
