Trucker killed in single-vehicle wreck

MALONE -- A Bonifay logging truck driver died Wednesday when he crashed his truck in Malone, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Clyde P. Ellis, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 12:30 p.m. on State 2 east of State 71. His truck passed through the intersection with 11^th Street, drifted onto the shoulder and hit a utility pole and a traffic sign before rolling over onto its side.

The truck was loaded at the time. The crashed blocked the roadway Wednesday afternoon.

The FHP is investigating the crash.
