An Ebro man faces several felony charges after allegedly shooting a BB gun at a car with a woman and three children inside, according to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
Brandon Alexander McCoy, 27, was arrested in Panama City Beach Monday afternoon following an incident in which he allegedly shot at the woman, with whom he had been involved in an argument, then tracking her down several blocks away to shoot at her again. The woman had an infant and two small children in the car with her.
McCoy first brandished the gun at about 11:30 a.m. on Pinetree Avenue and fired it after she started to drive away. She realized it was a BB gun and stopped at Thomas Drive and Biltmore Drive to call 911, but while she was on the phone McCoy showed up and fired several more times.
He left the scene before deputies arrived, but he was located nearby at about 1 p.m. and arrested after a traffic stop. He was jailed on six counts child abuse, two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle and eight counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
